Meet Cherrel, a passionate 19-year old girl from the Netherlands. She has a passion for dance and recently she went on a missiontrip to Spain to dance on the streets of Pamplona – Not like the rest of the tourists from all over the world who come to participate in the San Fermin festival, on the contrary.
Cherrel and her danceteam came to make a difference. They dance to show the love of Jesus. Listen to Maasbach Radio as Cherrel shares about dancing, bull-running and being God’s witness.
This weekend, Cherrel will be sharing her story with you. When she was 11 years old, her father got sick and past away within a few months. Cherrel ended up feeling all alone and struggled with depression at this young age. Then, God stepped in and restored her joy in a way only He can do. Tune in and join us on Maasbach Radio.
“Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.”Acts 5:38-39 (NIV)
‘I felt God in the details from the beginning. It was hard work, but I was grateful to do it. I did everything I was supposed to do, but it didn’t turn out the way I hoped’
Have you ever been there?
You’re doing everything you feel Jesus has called you to do. It’s a mix of messy and beautiful, and you’re OK with that. You love the times you sense God doing something powerful, but there are times you work as hard as you can, and it doesn’t turn out the way you think it should at all.
That can be discouraging, to say the least.
In today’s passage, we find Peter and the apostles in a hard place. Despite their faithfulness, they have been jailed and beaten many times. They are human, so there are discouraging moments. Yet each time they are released, they go right back out and do what Jesus asked them to do.
At one point, their dogged persistence troubles the authorities. They meet to discuss their fate. That’s when Gamaliel, a respected member of the community, speaks up:
“Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God” (Acts 5:38-39).
If it is from God, you will not be able to stop them.
What if I looked at my assignments from God differently?
Whether loving a child, leading a ministry or investing in a relationship, if God is in it, then we can rest in it. Success isn’t measured by challenges, our hard work or even the results.
If we know God has asked us to do something, that’s sufficient. All He wants is for us to do our part. We can trust He’s doing His. We might not see the eternal impact, but He does.
There will always be a mix of messy (our feelings, critical people, a desire to see immediate results) and faith as we follow Jesus. We might think it should be easier. We may believe it should bring us joy all the time. We might even equate off-the-charts results with pleasing Him. On days like that, we need to remember this:
If it is from God, you will not be able to stop [her]. Not because of us, but because of Him.
We can rest in what God’s asked us to do, from beginning to end. We’ll do our best. We’ll be faithful. When we complete that assignment, we’ll start listening for the next. We keep loving. We keep our heart attuned to His voice. We don’t allow results or challenges to rob us of the joy of partnering with Him.
If God is in it, and we know that to be true, we are free to simply show up and do our part. After all, God is in charge of the results.
Heavenly Father, You invited me to partner with You, and I’ve made it all about the external. I’ve wrapped it around feelings or results or what I think it should look like. I shift the focus back to You. If You are in it, that’s enough for me. Thank You for allowing me to partner with You in Your plans. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.SHARE
This is your message of the week on Maasbach Radio!
More about the message:
God created you for a divine purpose. He chose you before the creation of the world and He never changed His mind about you. You need to discover the future that God created for you through Jesus Christ.
Rachid and his wife are expecting their first baby! When talking to Rachid about the first ultra sound, he was speechless.
‘People don’t realize how big of a miracle it is for life to be born… It really is a miracle.’
Rachid himself experienced a miracle healing when he was 2 years old. He was diagnosed with severe meningitis and had to stay in the hospital. The doctors said he would either die, or be brain damaged for the rest of his life.
One day, a woman came to Rachid’s hospital room and asked his mom why she was crying. When Rachid’s mom told the woman what was going on with her son, the woman offered to pray with her. After three days of prayer, Rachid was completely healed. The doctors were amazed and had no other explanation than that of a miracle.
Rachid shares his story with you to show that God can do the impossible. Believe in Him! He wants to do a miracle in your life.
A couple of years ago, Tim was involved in a car crash. He got out to help the people in the 8 other cars that were involved because at that moment, he felt fine. But in the evening Tim started to experience severe headaches. The days after the accident the symptoms got worse and the diagnose became clear: whiplash.
For weeks, Tim couldn’t do anything and in this tough situation he was tempted to ask: ‘why God?’ Yet, Tim says he learned a very valuable lesson:
‘The one thing that I’ve learned out of this experience, is that when you seek Jesus in tough times… He will prove Himself to be so close to you.’
Whatever your circumstance is today: sickness, sadness, fear, tragedy, loss or anger, God wants to come close to you. Talk to Him about it!

COMPASSION FOR THE LOST.
‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? ’ – Isaiah 6:8
Scripture for today: Isaiah 6
Is it possible to be satisfied with what we see and hear around us today, after we have been baptized in the Holy Spirit? What caused Jesus to cry for the city of Jerusalem? It was a heart full of compassion! All around us there are people/souls that are lost without God. Today, the children of God need an outpouring of God’s love in their hearts for the lost. A compassion from which we cry out to God through the Holy Spirit: ’Have mercy, oh God, and save those who are doomed!’ Are you ready to do what God wants you to do? To go where God wants you to go? To say what God wants you to say? Are you on fire for Jesus?
Thoughts for today: The baptism in the Holy Spirit and death of our ‘own self’ gives a compassion for souls and for this world that is dying!
If you have a need in your life, we want to be there for you.
Maasbach Radio and many prayer partners from all over the world will pray for your situation every day when you fill out a prayer request and let us know what we can pray for. You can also ask us to pray for somebody else that needs a miracle.

The Blessing Pact, straight out of the principles in the Bible, is the formula through which God is able to supply you in all of your needs.
The Blessing Pact shows us how followers of Christ in the Bible were supplied in all of their needs and how God sustained them in their daily lives, because they gave God what belonged to Him. This principle is still the same for us today. God has not changed and He wants to supply in your needs and sustain you in your every day life.
Maasbach Radio presents to you a special hour: ‘Old but gold’.
Listen to an hour of your favorite hits from back in the day!
Every day we’ll freshen up your memory with songs that made it to the Christian-contemporary-songs-ranking from the nineties, eighties and even the seventies! There have been many talented singer-songwriters that have blessed us with the anointing that God gave them: Andrae Crouch, Sandy Patti, Avalon, Ron Kenoly, Point of Grace, Amy Grant and many more.

This week on Maasbach Radio: REVIVAL then & now with Fred de Bruijn
Fred has been a pastor and a teacher for many years. He sat down with us to talk about revival in the church in the past and what’s in store for the generation of today.
Oral Roberts has been a great inspiration to pastor Fred:
‘You want more when the Holy Spirit comes into your life. I also see this in the life of Oral Roberts: not being satisfied with only being saved. I knew I was called to serve God, but how?’
Pastor Fred finds 5 promises in the autobiography of Oral Roberts that he received from God. One of those promises is that there will be a worldwide revival before Jesus comes back.
‘The most important thing for our generation is to prepare for the revival that is coming before Jesus comes back. God is preparing us. There is no revival that started without years of prayer or without a hunger for the Holy Spirit. It doesn’t start in the future. It starts NOW.’
At Maasbach Radio we have the pleasure of meeting many inspirational individuals and hear their story. For instance this young man: Alwin.
At 16-years old, Alwin suffered from a severe blood poisoning. His whole life was turned upside down as he had to trade his soccer career for hospital visits and rehabilitation. As a result of this illness, Alwin’s fingertops needed to be amputated. As he lost his sense of belonging in society, a Christian friend invited Alwin to a concert in church. Alwin, who didn’t know Jesus at the time, agreed to go with him that night.
At the concert he saw young people singing, dancing and enjoying life. He wanted that same joy that he saw in that church. When the band’s leadsinger did an altarcall, Alwin didn’t hesitate to open his heart for Jesus and invite Him into his life.
Alwin started playing the guitar, despite his missing fingertops. Now, Alwin is a gifted guitar player and uses this gift in church as a worshipleader.

Jeconia, 25, is featured in this month’s personal playlist!
As a talented composer and avid music lover, he shares with you what his favorite songs are at the moment and what they mean to him.
1 Shoulders — For King & Country
I’ve been following this band since the beginning. My favorite For King & Country song and number 1 on my playlist is: ‘Shoulders’. They’re the brothers of Rebecca St. James and have a great sound. This song is about the fact that God always helps us and it tells about His love. It doesn’t matter in what kind of situation we are. Our help comes from Him.
2 Come Awaken Love — Bethel Music
Bethel, a great worshipband, has written this fun, fast song with a deep meaning. Hunter G K Thompson’s voice is very ‘interesting’ but in a good way. The song is about wanting more of God’s heart, which is very applicable for my life as well.
3 Love Has Come For Me — Colton Dixon
He became well known for participating in the Idols tv-show in America (in the 7th and 11th season) and he has an unbelievable voice. This is real Christian rock music. The Bible says that God is love and this song says that where ever I end up, God continues. Love (Jesus) has come for me.
4 Perfect Love — Leeland
A synth driven song, a beautiful voice and well arranged song. This song is about the perfect love of God that drives out all fear. Fear can fall upon us very easily, the question is: ‘what do we do with it?’ This song will certainly help you to get rid of your fear.
5 Heart Like Heaven — Hillsong United
Ofcoarse I can’t forget this one on my list: Hillsong United. This cd, that was recorded in the well known Ocean Way studio in Hollywood in America, is a real top dog. This song is about the holy name of God and that He is worthy of all worship and praise.
6 Made For Me — Toby Mac
I know little artists that have been at the top for so long and who are nominated for a Grammy every year. Toby Mac, who pursued a solo career after DC Talk, is always innovative with a great sound. This song is about his wife and it just has such a great vibe. He sings about the fact that God made her for him and that he can’t believe she’s his.
7 Real Love — Hillsong Young & Free
A band for youth or adults that are young of heart. God’s love is real and it’s for us. I especially like the vocal effects. This song is very helpful during a workout or to get active, ha! This band is fairly new to the scene. They have a modern sound with lyrics that clearly show that God is number one in their lives.

We’ve had such a good time with Rachel at Maasbach Radio. You might know her from Maasbach Worship or The Blessing Singers. This week, Rachel came to the studio to talk about her life a little bit.
From the young age of 6 years old, Rachel had a burning desire on her heart: for her father to accept Jesus Christ into his heart. She began praying for him. It wasn’t until many, many years later that Rachel saw this prayer answered. Rachel shared with us how she overcame discouragement and eventually developed an entire new kind of relationship with her father.

This month Maasbach Radio teamed up with the entire Blessing Family in the Netherlands for a day of spreading the good news!
We were excited to go in to the city of The Hague (where the king of Holland lives) to bring the good news of the gospel to the streets with music! Most importantly, anytime I am to speak in the evening, especially during midweek service, Maasbach Radio keeps me in a perfect shape and spirit for the message. After joining Micha Maasbach for his concert in Amsterdam, we got to hang out with him for a little bit. – You can catch the review on Micha’s concert here – We asked him about his current tour and plans for the future. Enjoy!
I don’t think we’ve ever seen you in a solo-project. What made you decide to take on this one?
A while ago, I was asked to sing a few songs in a city in Holland called ‘Leeuwarden’ as a performance. (we’re used to seeing Micha as a worshipleader for MAP band and Maasbach Worship) I realized right then and there that this concept of a vocal with an acoustic guitar, singing out Bible scriptures in the Dutch language, isn’t really out there. I define it as ‘music to relax’. After this performance I was asked to use this concept while performing in another meeting and then another one. Eventually I was asked by David Maasbach (president of the Johan Maasbach World Mission and director of Maasbach Radio) to tour around the Netherlands using this exact concept.
What is your favorite song of the evening?
I don’t have one particular favorite. I think all of the songs have something about them that makes them exciting to play. I do get goosebumps when I play the song ‘Lachai-Roï’ and I cry almost everytime when it’s time for the song: ‘Ik wacht op U, o Heer’, meaning: ‘I wait on You, Oh Lord’.
Yeah, we noticed that. Thank you for sharing your story behind that song! It was about a particular period of your childhood..
Yes, it’s about the time when I was too young to go to youthservice with my older brother. My younger brother and I stayed home with my uncle, who took this time to study the bible with us. I have such a special memory of those moments that it touches my heart everytime I talk about it!
You seem very comfortable showing your heart on stage.
When I was asked to do this tour, I was asked to really be me. To give the church a taste of what I do when I’m alone with God. I can be an emotional wreck sometimes! These songs are about me, my friends, my family, stuff I’ve been through, stuff I’m going through. So naturally it’s gonna lead to an emotion. All of us go through the ups and downs of life and with my stories I show how I deal with those circumstances.
Yes, we loved it! How many concerts are included in this tour?
8 in total. I will be visiting all of The Blessing Churches. Everybody’s more than welcome to come! I still have a few more to go, you can find my tourdates on maasbach.nl
All of the concerts take place inside the Netherlands, your homecountry. Do you think you’ll ever take the tour international?
I think one of the strengths of this tour is singing songs in Dutch. I’m not a real big fan of translating songs so if I were to tour outside of Holland, I would write new English songs instead of translating these ones.
Stephen, Maasbach’s main drummer, is your wingman on this tour as a percussionist. Do you write his parts for the song too?
In my head, I know what I want the song to sound like, but I’m very bad in articulating that to other people. Stephen really understands the value that a drummer/percussionist can add to an arrangement. He’s great at using the freedom he has in writing a rendition, yet not overdoing the part. We always try to give each song it’s own sound.
The final question we’re dying to ask… Can we expect a solo-cd to be released anytime soon?
I might, I’m not sure yet. Can’t tell you more right now… I guess you’ll just have to stay in touch about that one!
Micha Maasbach, leader of the MAP Band and gifted songwriter for MAP and Maasbach Worship is solo-touring the Netherlands! Maasbach Radio had the pleasure of joining Micha in Amsterdam for one of his concerts and got to hang out with him for a little bit – the interview will be posted in a seperate update! Here’s a little inside info on the evening and the world of Micha Maasbach.
Before the concert starts we meet Micha and Stephen at the door, where they’re welcoming all the people that are coming in. It’s an intimate set-up with candles and a little elevated platform where Micha will be sitting with one of his guitars. “The guitar sitting on one side of the platform is tuned differently and the one on the other side of the platform is for back-up purposes”, he explains. Stephen will be accompanying Micha throughout the night with his serious skills of rythm and beats. The drummer for MAP band and Maasbach Worship brought his own setup of percussion instruments.
When the concert starts, everybody immediately eases into the calm and wonderful atmosphere of worship. We see some closing their eyes and simply relaxing in Gods presence. Instead of taking notes, we decide to do the same and we join Micha in a journey through song, scripture and testimony. Every song in the repertoire has a special story and Micha doesn’t seem to hesitate when it comes to sharing his heart in the story. At one point he got a little emotional, sharing a precious childhood memory and how it inspired his song ‘Ik wacht op U, o Heer’ meaning: ‘I wait on You, O Lord’. A touching moment, which we’ll highlight in our interview with him.
Two songstory’s included a funny sidenote. These particular songs were actually written for other Maasbach productions: Maasbach Musicals and Maasbach Worship. The songs didn’t make it on the original project it was written for, “but”, Micha says: “that actually makes me kind of happy, cause now I can use it for my solo-tour. Which is awesome!”
During the concertbreak we see Micha hanging out in the crowd and talking to everyone who came. “He likes to mingle with the people”, Stephen tells us. This ‘family’-kind of feel is exactly how we would describe the evening. After the evening you feel like you actually know Micha. We love how he made it feel so personal and yet the center of it all is and remains: God.
So after this evening of music with Micha Maasbach we go home with a fulfilled and happy heart except for one thing.. we can’t wait to get our hands on a Micha Maasbach solo album! Read Micha’s response here.SHARE

Maasbach Worship’s newest album recording was an unforgettable experience and Maasbach Radio was honoured to be there. The smaller set-up for this recording was entirely different compared to the full choir, horns and strings of Maasbach Worship’s latest album: ‘Point of Contact’. This surely made it a memorable one, with an atmosphere of intimate worship and praise.
As we kicked of the night with the first song ‘Thank You’, the high-octave voice of one of Maasbach Worship’s songwriters Micha Maasbach, took us straight to the heart of worship: thanking God for all His blessings.
The song ‘Masterplan’ was led by Maasbach Worship’s frontwoman: Jesselyn Afriyie. ‘Masterplan’ had been introduced to the world on Maasbach Radio earlier this year and everybody loved the clean studio sound of it. Now, they presented us with a new rendition of the song. Replacing the intro with an A-major chord really added to the whole intimate worship vibe.
We ended the night with the titlesong ‘My future rewritten’. Again, very innovative arrangement with the song starting slow-tempo and minor chords but building up to an up-tempo, major melody. We ended the night with a danceparty!
After the recording we had the chance to ask some people about their favorites. ‘Oh the blood of the Lamb’, was clearly in the top 3 and could easily be named a classic hymn as the powerful melody and strong lyrics made everybody sing a little louder.
Maasbach Worship’s new Dutch album called: ‘My future rewritten’ is expected for release april 2016.SHARE

Last night, Capitol theatre was packed out with people from all over the country for our first revival meeting with John TL Maasbach. A special moment for Maasbach Radio when we got to honor one of the founders of the Johan Maasbach World Mission: Willy Maasbach. Together with her husband, the late Johan Maasbach, she layed the foundation for Maasbach Radio to be born when it was founded by their son: David Maasbach. Last night David Maasbach revealed the autobiography of this powercouple and we’re so glad we got to be there!

Congratulations to Maasbach Radio! 3 years ago we streamed the very first song on The Blessing Family Music Station. Do you remember which one? ‘God’s not dead’ by Newsboys, an all time favorite! What a special moment when you all joined us in our countdown and director David Maasbach launched the Radio Station. We will always remember this day as a very victorious one and will treasure gratitude in our hearts forever. We love to share uplifting music and quotes all around the world and we will keep on doing so by the grace of God. Help us spread the news! Share Maasbach Radio with your fellow music lovers and see how positive music can uplift their spirit.SHARE
