MC Band stands for Messengers of Christ, which was founded by John Sappy in 1986. They started in Bukavu, a big city at the eastern edge of the Democratic Republic of Congo. But are now located in Kenya. For over 30 years they’ve produced and performed numerous gospel songs all across Africa.
In 1986, John Sappy founded the MC Band. He received a vision from God that he should share the Gospel through Music, but he wouldn’t have ever thought that his music ministry would ever reach all across Africa. His brother joined him in his calling and together they form the very backbone of the MC Band.
Over the course of time they’ve added many talented musicians to the band in order to fulfill the calling that God put on their lives in the best way possible. They like to produce Christian music that shows a unique mix of musical styles that is close to their hearts. Music styles like Congolese Rumba, Reggae, Zouk, Afro beat and other local styles are mixed with locally dominant languages like Swahili, English, French and even Arabic to create their unique “African” sound.
MC Band has created six albums thus far, and are now located in Nairobi, Kenya. Over time they’ve established many new partnerships with ministries all across the East African region, where they provide worship for many campaigns. Listen now to “Messengers of Christ” on Maasbach Radio.← BackNext →
