Rhett Walker is the lead singer of the well-known Christian Southern rock formation ‘Rhett Walker Band.’ Since a few years, they’ve been releasing their music under Rhett Walker’s own name and with much success. His latest single “Believer” is now trending in the Christian Charts. How did it all start for the band and why did they release this single?
Rhett Walker Band was founded in 2011 and is fronted by Rhett Walker who handles most of the vocals and songwriting. Together with Kenny Davis as their drummer, guitarist Joe Kane, and Kevin Whitsett on the bass, he released his debut album in 2012 ‘Come to the River.’ This album proved to be an immense success and even landed in the top 10 of the Billboard Christian Album Chart.
The success of the band proved to be huge with multiple Dove awards and even one Grammy nomination. Over the years they’ve released multiple singles that scored fairly well in the charts. However, the band decided to change their formula in 2018 by focusing more on Rhett Walker as the main vocalist of the band. This resulted in the release of ‘Believer,’ their latest hit.
Rhett walker beautifully describes his reason why he wrote this song. “ I wrote this song to combat the daily struggles and thoughts of ‘I’m just not good enough,’ because we serve a God as a believer that says ‘Yes, you can’t be good enough, but I sent my son to die on the cross and pay the ultimate sacrifice so that way your foundation can be freedom.”← BackNext →
