Meet Jaye King!

Maasbach Radio is honoured to welcome Jaye King to the studio this week for a conversation about music, growing in worship ministry, and most of all, how our God is more than able to turn even the messiest story into a powerful message.

Because in Jaye’s own words: Jaye King’s story is messy. Yet, that’s also what makes it so miraculous. The new Centricity Music recording artist had every reason not to succeed; but through obedience, hard work and divine intervention, he’s still got a song to sing.

Listen to Jaye King on Maasbach Radio this ‘PEPTALK THURSDAY’ between 11am and 2 pm Amsterdam Time.

“I can’t even talk about my story without smiling,” King says. “I’ll cry while smiling because God took what the enemy meant to be an evil thing — a destructive thing — and brought life to it. My story says I shouldn’t be the person I am, but my God comes in and says, ‘I’m going to redeem that, and I’m going to use that.’”

Growing up just south of Tampa, in Bradenton, Florida, life was difficult for King and his three sisters, who were raised by a single mom. Although he saw his dad at church nearly every Sunday, his father was never a consistent part of his life, which left King confused and skeptical of devout faith. Music gave the multi-instrumentalist a sense of safety and peace. Today, he’s a deft musician who can arguably pick up and play just about anything, but drums remain his first love.

Armed with a savvy mind for business and an unmatched work ethic modeled by his mother, King held aspirations of climbing the corporate ladder and giving his family — and other families — the life he never had. But that vision began to change when he had a transformative encounter with the Lord at a youth conference as a teen. After that life-altering experience, God slowly began showing him how he could use the healing power of music to help others. Eventually, King’s call shifted from business to the local church, where he’s led worship for well over a decade.

In and out of bands since he was in his early 20s, King — who now resides right outside of Nashville — quietly wrote and recorded his own music as an independent artist for years. Though he never had dreams for his songs beyond his own journal.

Now, spreading faith, hope and love one song at a time, the personable family man is inviting listeners into his world. Given his upbringing, one might assume that he’d be guarded, but instead, King is surprisingly an open book. His melodies are as big and bold as his personality, but his lyrics are as intimate as his prayers.

Zach Williams: There was Jesus

A moving bilingual duet in this special Summer Song release!

In the waiting, in the searching
In the healing and the hurting
Like a blessing buried in the broken pieces
Every minute, every moment
Where I’ve been and where I’m going
Even when I didn’t know it or couldn’t see it
There was Jesus

Zach Williams and Christy Grace sing an English and Dutch mash up of the hitsong ‘There was Jesus’.

Confidence Boosters

Have you ever heard of affirmations? Affirmations are short, powerful sentences that declare something as true — often about yourself, your purpose, or your future — to help reinforce a positive mindset. But did you know that this is actually a principle from the word of God? Life and death is in the power of the tongue! (Proverbs 18:21)

Affirmations are declarations of faith — spoken truths aligned with God’s Word — that remind you who you are in Christ and what He has promised.

So speak these truths over yourself, out loud! They are all based on the word of God and are true for the children of God!

I am walking in God’s divine purpose.

Romans 8:28
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

I am wise and make good decisions.

James 1:5
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

I am forgiven and free from my past.

2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

I am prosperous and live in abundance.

Psalm 1:3
“He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.”

I am filled with peace and joy.

Romans 15:13
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

I am a child of God—loved and chosen.

Ephesians 1:4-5
“…just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world… having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will…”

I am becoming the best version of myself.

Philippians 1:6
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

I am disciplined and focused.

2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

I am qualified and equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:17
“That the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

I am confident and courageous.

Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Overcoming Every Fiery Dart with Biblical Truth

Every believer faces battles. The Bible describes them as the fiery darts of the enemy: thoughts, fears, temptations, lies, and discouragements that seek to weaken our faith and draw us away from God. Yet God has not left us defenseless. He has given us His Word as a weapon of truth.

When temptation comes, there is a promise. When fear arises, there is a promise. When sorrow, anxiety, injustice, or spiritual opposition try to overwhelm us, God’s Word speaks a greater truth. These Scriptures are reminders of who God is, what He has promised, and how we can stand firm in every season.

Use these verses to pray, meditate, declare, and fight back against every fiery dart with the truth of God’s Word:

Temptation — Romans 13:14

‘But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.’

Worry and Stress — Matthew 11:28

‘Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.’

Depression — 1 Peter 5:7

‘casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.’

Grief, Disappointment, Discouragement — Psalm 34:19

‘Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.’

Greed or Jealousy — Hebrews 13:5

‘Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”’

Fear — Isaiah 41:10

‘Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Bullying or Despair — 2 Corinthians 4:8–9

‘We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed’

Difficult Decisions — Psalm 23:4

‘Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.’

Financial Problems — Philippians 4:19

‘And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.’

Does God Know Me? — Jeremiah 29:11

‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.’

Spiritual Oppression and Bondage — James 4:7

‘Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.’

Being Treated Unjustly — Romans 12:19

‘Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.’

Bitterness and Resentment — Ephesians 4:26–27

‘“Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.’

Am I Worth Anything? — John 3:16

‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.’
